For this role, we are looking for someone to join Nykredit – one of the banks BEC works closely with.
Nykredit is both a bank and a mortgage provider owned by an association of customers. Being customer-owned, they are in a unique position to give something back to their customers when they are doing well. Together they can simply do more for their customers and for society.
As a Junior software engineer with AI at Nykredit, you will help build modern software solutions that use AI to solve real problems. Your work may include developing small features, improving existing code, creating automation pipelines, working with cloud tools, and experimenting with AI models to make our products smarter. You’ll collaborate with designers, data specialists, and developers to turn ideas into working, scalable solutions that support Nykredit’s digital journey. The innovation residency: your first 12 months
This position is designed as a high-impact, 12-month residency within our innovation hub, mastering cutting-edge development, automation, and AI implementation.
After the first year, you won't just stay in the hub - you’ll take the hub with you. Upon completing your 12-month tenure, you will transition into other key domains within the company. Your mission will be to act as a technical bridge, embedding your specialized AI and automation competencies into new business areas to drive modern engineering standards across the organization.

Primary tasks and responsibilities include:
Build and iterate on AI-driven POCs and MVPs, moving from initial concept to production-ready solutions.
Develop agentic automation pipelines using foundational models and Microsoft Azure.
Fine-tune LLMs to meet specific project requirements.
Write robust Python code for both AI modules and traditional software features.
Deploy and monitor code in production, ensuring system reliability and model performance through active observability.
Work across the full stack to ensure AI solutions are integrated, scalable, and well-documented.
To succeed you will have to be:
a graduate with bachelor's degree in fields of technology or computer science, planning to continue education with master's degree; a student on master's degree in IT fields or in other fields, who would like to start a career in IT
fluent in English (both written and spoken)
available at least 32 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
a quick learner focused on professional development and improving technical knowledge
motivated to join a one-year program and willing to stay with us afterwards
Proficient in Python fundamentals
Experienced with Git, RESTful services, and basic CI/CD
Familiar with Azure environments and containerization
Capable of integrating LLMs/OpenAI/Azure APIs
