We are looking for a Project Engineer – Ecodesign to the Intelligent Devices campus in Katowice.
You will Perform Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Power Control products including Variable Frequency Drives, Motor Control Centers, Motor Starters and their components and implement ESPR regulations to Power and Motion control products.
You will report to the Manager, located in Poland.
Your Responsibilities:
Drive Design for Sustainability and Circularity initiatives in the Business Unit. Act as Sustainability and Ecodesign Subject Metter Expert and internal consultant for development teams. Collaborate with Global Sustainability Team.
Work together with Development Teams and other internal functions such as Sourcing, Industrialization, Operations, Quality, Distribution Centers to collect data needed for LCA, Design for Sustainability and other sustainability reporting. Connect with Suppliers to collect data and identify design alternatives.
Participate in Standard Committees and stay up to date with the requirements and legislative documents related to sustainability.
Work with Management to lead best practices for new product development.
Implement design practices to calculate and improve reliability, durability, recyclability, modularity, reparability of the product. Identify and eliminate Substances of Concern from products.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, or Sustainability Engineering preferred).
Basic knowledge of Ecodesign Directive, ESPR, LCA, energy efficiency, and other sustainability concepts.
Be able to gather and analyze information and, help develop appropriate options and actions.
Team player with a collaborative, learning & approach,
Experience in product design and development
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
5+ years of experience in w LCA tools, software, and libraries (GaBi, SimaPro, OpenLCA or similar)
Familiarity with PLM (SAP or Windchill or similar) and CAD (Creo or similar) tools.
Knowledge of EU legislative process and regulations related to Green Deal.
Familiarity with variable frequency drives and motor control solutions.
Experience in standardization work (e.g., standard committees).
